William Moreno Jr. High School opened in September 1993. The new school facilities provide a positive environment for all our students. The entire community shares in its pride. The certificated staff is supplemented by full-time and part-time classified staff members. All students receive a comprehensive core curriculum by attending 6 periods in 6 blocks of instruction based on their identified needs. In addition students receive services through categorical programs. The culture of William Moreno Jr. High reflects the vision and basic assumptions shared by members of its community. WMJH’s staff recognizes that students in the middle grades are in transition from childhood to adolescence. In organizing its instructional program, WMJH has taken into account the intellectual, physical, social, emotional, moral and ethical development of students in the middle grades. The students are engaged in a lively, challenging and horizon-expanding curriculum. Students are encouraged by a faculty who enjoy teaching and who provide for all students regardless of ability or primary language.
