Calexico Unified School District has been determined by the state to be a Year 3 Program Improvement District , because of that we are required to develop a Needs Assessment and a new LEA Plan.  That is a Local Educational Agency Plan.   The Needs Assessment and the skeleton of the proposed plan are posted on this Web Site under Program Improvement – Year 3 (right side).  Our goal is to improve the academic achievement of our students. We would appreciate your input. 
We would like to invite you to take a look at the proposed plan and join us in a meeting to discuss the plan.  We will hold two sessions for input.   The first will be Wednesday, May  1st in the Professional Learning Center (901 Andrade ave. – Entrance by the Football Field Parking lot). The second one Thursday, May 2nd in the District Board Room (901 Andrade ave. – Main Office).
  The meetings will begin at 6:00 p.m.

If you cannot attend one of the meetings, but you would like to discuss the LEA Plan – please contact Dr. Sherry Spencer at the State & Federal Projects Office – 760-768-6888 ext 3013.

 


 

El Distrito Escolar Unificado de Calexico ha sido determinado por el estado como distrito en programa mejora (año 3), a causa de eso estamos obligados a desarrollar una evaluación de necesidades y un nuevo Plan LEA. El Plan LEA, es un Plan de agencia educativa Local. La evaluación de las necesidades y el esqueleto del proyecto de plan se ha publicado en este sitio web, en el área de ‘Program Improvement – Year 3’  (lado derecho). Nuestro objetivo es mejorar el rendimiento académico de nuestros estudiantes. Apreciaríamos su retroalimentación.
Nos gustaría invitarlos a que revisen el plan propuesto y únase a nosotros en una reunión para un intercambio sobre el plan. Llevaremos a cabo dos sesiones de entrada. La primera será el miércoles, 1 de mayo en el Centro de Aprendizaje Profesional (901 Andrade ave – entrada por el estacionamiento del campo de futbol americano). La segunda el jueves, 2 de mayo en la Sala de Juntas del Consejo (901 Andrade ave – Oficina principal). Las reuniones comenzarán a las 6:00 pm.

Si usted no puede asistir a una de las reuniones, pero le gustaría darnos su opinión sobre el Plan LEA – comuníquese con la Dr. Sherry Spencer al– 760-768-6888 ext 3013.

Dear CUSD Teachers,

The Calexico Arts Commission is planning to have the 2nd Annual Children’s Arts Festival on Saturday, April 20th.    It will be an ART FILLED DAY for kids of all ages. 
The plan is to have fun art activities for the kids to do that day.  However, a big part of the event is a student art exhibit.  This is where CUSD comes in.
 
We would like to extend an invitation to all of the teachers to submit their students’ art for the exhibit.  Teachers can have their students do self portraits, collages, abstract art, 3 dimensional arts, etc… to submit as a class.
Last year we had 100’s for art pieces to display, I really hope that this year we have even MORE!!!.
 
Of course Art teachers are especially encouraged to submit their student’s artwork, but we also want to invite EVERY teacher to participate.
 
The artwork needs to be on paper no bigger than 11 x 17 inches, so that we can fit a lot of artwork in the gallery.
Items do not have to be framed, but it would be nice if they were matted on construction paper.
Please call the library 760-768-2170 or send an email to stauler@calexico.ca.gov to add your class to the list for display.

Parents,


The Calexico Unified School District has been declared a Year 3 Program Improvement District.  Due to that designation, an outside group, Pivot Learning, has been contracted to do a needs assessment study and help the District develop a Local Educational Plan. 
In order to do develop a needs assessment, they would like to speak with parents.  We will hold two parent meetings – The first will be Tuesday , March 19th at 6 p.m. in the Board Room at the District Office.  The second will be Thursday night, March 21st at 6 p.m. in the Board Room at the District Office. 901 Andrade Avenue.
Your participation would be appreciated.

El Distrito Escolar Unificado de Calexico ha sido declarado un Distrito en Programa de Mejoramiento en Año 3.
